About Amy

HOW IT STARTED

My Coaching Journey

I didn't come to coaching from the outside. I came from more than twenty years inside some of the most competitive, fast-moving organizations in media and technology; building businesses from zero, scaling teams, and making high-stakes decisions with real consequences.

At Amazon, as an executive business leader I was responsible for building teams, developing talent, and scaling a nascent business to $1B+ in revenue. Before that, I held senior roles at Time Inc., AOL, and IAC, organizations each navigating the kind of fundamental market transformation that separates leaders who adapt from those who don't.

Throughout that journey, I worked alongside brilliant people who had everything it took to go further — the intelligence, the drive, the vision — but were held back by things that had nothing to do with capability.

Misalignment. Unclear narrative. Lack of a thought partner who had actually been where they were going.  My success and passion for developing talent is what led me to coaching.

TURNING POINT

The Work Ahead

I completed Columbia University's Coaching Certification Program, the most rigorous executive coaching credential available, a graduate-level joint program of Teachers College and Columbia Business School, to deepen my knowledge and passion in talent development. What I discovered was a framework for human performance that explained what I had been witnessing for two decades: that the gap between where leaders are and where they want to be is rarely about skill. It's about clarity, confidence, and having the right partner in the room.

I became a Columbia Credentialed Professional Executive Coach (CCPEC), the highest level of achievement the program offers. And I built Gist Advisory to bring that credential together with everything I know from the field.

The light bulb moment was this: the best operators I had ever worked with weren't just strategically sharp. They were self-aware. Sought to understand not only how they were wired, but how others were as well. They knew how they thought, how they showed up, and what they needed to move faster. That's the work.

Three Pillars

COACH

Evidence-based, neuroscience-informed executive coaching grounded in Columbia University's Coaching Program framework and the Science of Human Performance.

PARTNER

A genuine thought partner, someone who thinks alongside you, helps you pressure-test decisions, and holds the strategic thread between sessions.

CHAMPION

Someone in your corner who has been where you're going and will advocate for the version of you that's already capable of getting there.

MEANING & PURPOSE

Why I Do This Work

I do this work because I know what it costs to operate without the right support. I've seen it from the inside, talented, driven leaders who were one conversation away from a breakthrough they couldn't quite reach on their own.

I built Gist Advisory for them. For the executive who is ready for the next level but needs a clear strategy to get there. For the founder navigating complexity without a true thought partner. For the leader who has earned their seat but hasn't yet fully claimed it.

My mission is straightforward: help driven people operate with more clarity, more confidence, and a strategy that holds, so they can build what they came here to build.
